Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Japan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 100-100; Anal soft rays: 81-81; Vertebrae: 102-102. This species is distinguished by the following characters: pungent spines (D2) II, found in front of the middle of the caudal part of the body; all spiny rays (D1 + D2) 45; number of rays in D1 is less than in D3: 43 and 55; vertebrae 102; D 100 (43 II 55); A 81; scales are developed in a continuous cover not only on the posterior, but also on the anterior part of the body, reaching the base of the pectoral (Ref. 130195).
