Diagnosis: | Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Anal spines: 0-0. Eyes relatively small, less than snout length in diameter. Chin barbel absent. Pectoral and pelvic fins reaching beyond level of anal fin origin. | |||
Biology: | Found in the continental slope (Ref. 1371). Many specimens taken from a whale stomach (Ref. 1371). Gut content of a 3.86 cm SL specimen contained a large number of grasping spines of arrow worms (Chaetognatha spp.), while a 4.01 cm SL specimen contained 6 individuals of the copepod Metridia pacifica (Ref. 87085). | |||
