Family:  Moringuidae (Worm or spaghetti eels)
Max. size:  14.6 cm TL (female)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 55 m
Distribution:  East Pacific: western coast of North and Central America from the northern Gulf of California to Panama and northern Colombia.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 93-102. This species is distinguished by the following characters: predorsal vertebrae 34-38; preanal vertebrae 41-44; total vertebrae 93–102; larvae with a sharp intestinal loop; presence of the posterior lateral melanophore and anterior ventral melanophore; colour when preserved gray to brown (Ref. 133039).
