Diagnosis: | Dorsal soft rays (total): 51-51; Anal soft rays: 42-42; Vertebrae: 53-53. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: reduced pelvic disk soft tissues; vertebrae 53, D 51, A 42; pectoral fin with 20-22 rays, notched; lower fin-lobe shorter than upper lobe; mouth horizontal; cephalic pores 2-6-7-1; absence of pyloric caeca; absence of prickles on skin; skin on head and body (where present) dark brown; peritoneum and branchial cavity black (Ref. 133095). | |||
