Diagnosis: Marcusenius angolensis can be distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: number of anal fin rays 33, number of dorsal rays 26, anal fin length 25.7% of standard length, dorsal fin length 19.6% of standard length, and caudal peduncle length 17.0% of standard length (Ref. 75962).
Colouration: colour in preservation: a homogeneous brown-ochre (Ref. 75962).
