ການຖ່າຍທອດທາງກຳມະພັນຈາກພໍ່ແມ່ຫາລູກ: 3; ຄີກົ້ນຂອງປາ: 7 - 8. Medium-sized fish of moderately deep, compressed body. Predorsal scales very large, beginning between the nostrils. Preoperculum with coarse distant serrations, and scales extending on to flange. Color is silvery, darker above; fins yellowish-brown. Young individuals with a large dusky steel-blue blotch on the operculum.
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal; Cross section: oval.
Found in coastal waters and trawling grounds. Caught with bottom trawls, bottom longlines, handlines, gillnets and traps.
